Today Audrey and I enjoyed a lovely lunch at a favorite spot of ours, Bubby’s in Tribeca. It’s one of the best places for brunch/lunch in Manhattan and a wonderful place if you have kids. It always has a lively crowd which is perfect for Audrey as she loves to people watch. And the noise level is high enough should she decide to experiment with her voice, it isn’t a distraction to those around us. Plus, the food is awesome. Today we shared a zucchini and squash frittata and salad. As well as a few lemon slices which have become a newfound favorite of the little miss. There was a pregnant woman dining next to us who commented on how well-behaved Audrey was. She hoped that one day she’d be able to experience the same with her unborn child and asked if I had any helpful advice. As a novice myself, I could only say that exposure seems to be the key. I’ve never been afraid to bring Audrey into a restaurant and as long as she’s been able to sit up in a high-chair we’ve been taking her out. I also always plan it so that the time we go coincides with mealtime for her. And I don’t ever think of going into a restaurant without a bib, a bottle of water, a baby spoon, a container of food, and an arsenal of toys. Piece of cake, right?
